The global brand Etisalat put an end to its Nigeria arm. This new development is as a result of the recession which hit every sector of the economy the telecommunication sector was not left out.
A week ago Nigerian regulators made attempts to salvage the situation from collapse after talks with its lenders to renegotiate a $1.2 billion loan failed.
As of today the chairman of Etisalat Hakeem Belo Osagie has resign along with members of the board.
At the end of today management meeting the board agreed to adopt a new brand name 9MOBILE
