The southeast governors’ forum on Friday, September 15, proscribed the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The decision to ban IPOB led by controversial leader, Nnamdi Kanu, was taken at an emergency meeting held at the Enugu government house
There ware earlier report that the meeting was attended by governors Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, Dave Umahi, Okezie Ikpeazu, and Willie Obiano.
Reading a communique after the 2-hour meeting, Governor Umahi said: “All activities of IPOB are hereby proscribed. IPOB and all other aggrieved groups are advised to articulate their position on all national issues and submit to the committee of governors and National Assembly members from Southeast zone, through the chairman, southeast governors forum.”e
Earlier reported that governors of Southeast have entered into a meeting in Enugu state to deliberate on the recent clash between the Indigenous People Of Biafra (IPOB) and Nigerian army in the region.
