Dance hall singer, Timaya seem to have become a social media marriage counsellor following his assertion about marriage to Phyno that became a viral topic, but this time, he is in the news for clapping back aggressively at a politician who made an attempt to correct him.
Following the viral video showing Timaya advising his colleagues, Phyno and Rudeboy, against focusing on marriage, but on having kids that went viral on the Internet. In the video, the singer said, “…just born pikin, pikin go grow. Mummy this marriage thing no dey work.”
In reaction to the video, an Instagram user believed to be a politician, tries to correct the singer, and advise the public otherwise using the hashtag #iamhappilymarried. He wrote,
“I was going through @instablog9ja and saw a suppose role model advising his friend to impregnate ladies and move on…. Don’t be fooled a lot of people are going through a lot and disguise under celebrity status to hide their phobia… Be careful who you take advise from …. #iamhappilymarried”
Timaya who is known for his quick reflexes when it comes to criticisms against him, slammed his critic in his usual fashion calling him out as a failed politician who beats his wife. He suggested that the criticism from the politician is supposed to be some sort of strategy to earn him votes which won’t work.
